HAVOK Guild Ethics

All Havok guild and alliance members are expected to conduct themselves with maturity and respect towards all other persons. All abusive language relating to gender, sex, race, religion, or politics is forbidden.

We ask that all members and alliance members refrain from using foul language in voice chat with the understanding that it may be offensive to some members and that children could be within hearing range.

Subjects that can be highly controversial such as politics or religion should only be discussed via private chat or tells.

Guild officers have the right to proclaim a public discussion unsuitable and the participants must respect the officer's decision and if members wish to continue their conversation it must be done in a private channel. At the same time, if another member expresses that they are offended by a discussion; guild members should respect the person and continue the conversation in private.

All rules regarding language and behavior cover voice chat, guild and group tells, and forum posts.

External Forum Posts:
Every Havok guild member by extension is a representative of Havok. With this consideration, all rules of conduct apply to forum posts external to the Havok website. All Havok members should show respect and courtesy to outside players. Havok members should not ridicule other players or guilds on external forums, such as eq2flames, even though other guilds tend to do so. This philosophy is inline with the basic Havok philosophy posted on the home page. Guild members who violate this policy will receive disciplinary action. Havok's reputation is important and all members are expected to ensure that the reputation remains intact.

Conflict Resolution

Conflicts are bound to arise in any guild but how those conflicts are resolved and handled are particularly important to the guild leadership.

The guild will on no occasion tolerate issues related to drama. People who create drama will be asked to pursue their goals in another guild. Havok is a guild composed of players who want to play the game, have fun, and experience higher level game content.

All members should be aware that what is insignificant to them may be important to another player. We ask that all members try to bear this in mind and be considerate of their fellow guild and alliance members.

If a conflict arises, all members involved should take their disagreement to a private voice channel or tells. They are encouraged to seek out an officer to help resolve the issue if they are unable to resolve the issue among themselves. Members involved in a conflict should respect other members and should only draw officers into the conflict. Disagreements on no account should be made public and must be handled respectfully, discretely, and in a mature manner with a calm attitude.

If members involved in a conflict behave in a belligerent manner, the guild officer has the right to suspend the discussion for a later time when both members can approach the issue with controlled emotions.

Violation to any of the ethics rules is subject to disciplinary action by the guild officers.

All guild members and alliance members are responsible for reading and understanding all of the rules governing behavior.

Disciplinary Action

Any member who violates any ethics rule is subject to a one time warning. Only one warning will be given per member even if they subsequently violate a different rule. A second offense is grounds for removal from the guild for members or dismissal from the raid force for alliance members. Guests who violate these rules will no longer receive invitations to join Havok raids.

No one officer has the power to enforce disciplinary action. Officers will discuss the offense and then decide as a group to initiate disciplinary action. Any member who is receiving disciplinary action will be given a clear explanation by the officers and they will be shown which rule they violated. It is normal for disciplnary action to be taken a day or two after the event occured.
